C25K with plantar fasciatis

So far I've lost 12 lbs just tracking my food and calories. I need to add exercise and am very out of shape. The C25K program appeals to me because of the structure. I'm pretty good at following directions :-). But, I have had plantar fasciitis for more than a year. With daily muscle-stretching exercises, it isn't painful now but I still feel it at times. I am wondering if I can get fitted for a good pair of running shoes and do C25K without aggravating my plantar fasciitis. Anyone else try beginning running with PF? Thanks.
