Dieting with your significant other

My husband and I just started really changing our lives. We quit smoking, quit drinking pop (we were religious about pop in the fridge), I joined a gym and he did nothing. He was recently diagnosed with high blood pressure and put on two medications (at 28) So we decided enough was enough. Now he thinks he's the expert on diet and excersize for some reason. I told him about signing up for this website and he was like "this should be a personal thing no one can tell you what to do. My Dr. said I could change nothing but my food and I would lose more weight than you would by excersizing and that it was better to lose weight slowly than to lose it as quickly as I want to (which is not an unreasonable amount according to my dr) because it will stay off better."
Does anyone else have someone that just irritates you to all get out because they don't think you're doing something right because it's different than what they're doing? Help!

You HAVE to eat right, you NEED to exercise, if you dont you WILL look like a deflated baloon, all flabby and jello-like.
He will lose weight faster than you will, because its our genetic make up. BUT it is better to lose at a normal pace than a fast one for sure.
Your both going to do that lol (my husband and I did-get on each others nerves at first- but in the long run HOPEFULLY you can help each other learn some things along the way, but not everything will work the same for both of you. There will be alot you can do together.....LOL good luck. And get in the gym:huh:0 -
Losing weight quickly means to me 1-2 lbs a week. Losing weight to him means 10 lbs in 4 months. That's a little to slow for me.0

Just remind him that maybe that will work for him, and your body is different! haha Perfect example I have always work at least 5 days a week and always have however food is what makes or breaks me specifically CARBS! My body just reacts weird to them even to what is considered a normal amount it does not matter how much i work out, how little i work out, if im eating carbs and sugar i dont lose (people can tell me all the want that its not possible but i know my body) However my husband adds an extra 2 miles and eats whatever he wants and starts losing weight! Moral of the story we could never ever do the same plan, but we have both lost weight!0

he loves candy too much and works a manual job so he can get away with it! :grumble:0
