So, this is probably a stupid question, but I'm having some confusion regarding "net calories consumed" and "daily calorie deficit" settijngs. MFP states that "Net Calories Consumed = Total Calories Consumed - Exercise Calories Burned", so if my calorie goal is 1500 calories/day does this mean that my calorie count should be 1500 AFTER subracting my calories burned? All of that makes perfect sense, until i read that i have a "daily calorie deficit" of 500 calories...can someone please clarify this for me?

Thank you!!

Your understanding is correct on net calories. Daily calorie deficit is the difference between your maintenance level at which you would maintain current weight and the 1500 you have as a weight loss goal. Using those numbers, your maintenance is 2000.

Would my maintenence level be my Basal Metabolic Rate? That makes much more sense! Thank you so much!

No, your BMR is the base rate of your metabolism to just sustain life. In other words, if you just laid in bed all day, that is how many calories you would burn. You maintenance level is Total Daily Energy Expentidure or TDEE. Glad to help!
