female prob - time of the month diet cravings help

Hi, so I'm near that dreaded week, I started MFP just before my period ended so this will be my first diet one, previously I was on the pill and just chose not to have one and join packets for a few months - unfortunately that won't be happening anymore but I'm scared

with over a week to go I'm already craving that betty crocker rich creamy vanilla icing...how do you deal with your cravings without giving up/ actually into them ? I want to cry...no betty crocker icing for me !

please please help before I raid my fridge for all its contents and screw up my next two weeks !

I work a treat into my day like today is pretzel M&M's for 150 cals.

Options hot choc is 39 cals.

Otherwise I drink lots of water and exercise, I still have my moments when I can be stuffed full from dinner but just NEED something sweet so I'll have 1 piece of chocolate to satisfy the craving.

Go work out, drink a bottle of water and if you still want that treat allow for it to an extent. Maybe two tbsp of frosting on a graham cracker and then put the rest down the sink? I would rather go to Tcby or DQ and get something small just to keep it out of my house. I'm always hungry during my tmi, I think your body might use a little energy for that so its normal. Just don't use it as an excuse to eat a tub of frosting.
  • Sugar free snak pak pudding! 70 calories...Jello sometimes hits the spot too..Or stock up on some protein drinks..don't add milk, but crushed ice, with maybe some fruit..it keeps you full and helps curve that sweet tooth, plus your adding some extra proteininto your deit for the day..

Keep up your exercise to earn some extra food calories and help with cramping. If you let yourself have a little treat you might be less likely to binge off a craving. You may just need to eat a little more during that time of the month, especially if you are on really low calories. I do not have super cravings, I just know that I tend to be a little hunger and get more tired so I try to plan that in to days. Good luck!
