I've been back on the wagon for 2 weeks now. I decided that this time I was going to take things slow. I've been trying to lose weight for 7 years at this point - so what I've been doing hasn't been working. Going down to 1200 calories just wasn't working for me. So I decided I'd try to lose just 1 lb a week instead of 2+.

I *love* not being so consumed by my weight loss. I use to think about my calories every second of every day! I would try to figure out how I could eat the most food and still enjoy myself. I would drive myself (and hubby) crazy! Now, I track my food and all that fun stuff but it's not an all consuming issue! And I'm losing weight!

I know this is the slower path but it's working for me so I'll take it! :)

1200 calories seems ridiculously low unless you weight about 100 lbs. You are just going to put your metabolism into starvation mode.

I decided to take the slower path of 1lb a week aswell. I figure it took me ten years to put this weight on its going to take a while to lose it. I want to change my lifestyle so is like to do it in a way I can maintain. Slow and steady wins the race, as they say :)

Me too i started on 1200 trying to lose 2lbs a week now aiming for half a pound to a pound a week instead eating 1600 cals plus some exercise cals back, which means i get to eat more and still lose weight, yes its slower but at least itl be fat and not my muscle mass aswell, i weigh 138lbs so my goal is to get to 127lbs so this is an ideal rate for me!!

3 weeks in I just tried on some jeans that were abit tight around my belly and they now fit fine :-) so yes eat more and you still lose weight its a win win situation!! Id never thought id see the day when id be eating more and losing weight, i always had it in my head eat less exercise more. How wrong was i, and its down to this site for finally opening my eyes. I agree i was the same when on a low calorie diet always obessing about what i could eat now i dont have that problem its actually such a relief.
