What other languages are you fluent in besides English?

  • My native languages are French and German, so those two. I don't want to pretend that I'm completely fluent in English though.

I'm fluent in Spanish & English.

I can speak a little Afrikaans, though truthfully if an isiZulu song came on the radio I'd have an easier time singing along than with an Afrikaans song. I'd wouldn't understand the isiZulu song (I would with an Afrikaans song) but I can pronounce those words with more ease.

Does toddler-speak count as a language? I can usually figure out what the little ones are saying faster than their parents most times! Guess that comes with teaching little ones so long.
  • I speak Australian, Canadian and some Great Britain (still having a hard time putting the "R" before the "E" as in theatre versus theater) in addition to my native English.

Afrikaans and a little bit of Tswana.

I just learned my first Tswana word today! A guy who grew up speaking Tswana told me about he stood in shock in the US when he came across a Polo store.
  • I can understand a good bit of Cajun French, but only speak a few words. I was picking up Dutch, but stopped because I had no one to speak to. I'm working on Spanish.
