Today I went to a parade, and since my little guy was riding on the football float, he asked me to gather some candy for him. I'm a teacher, and the parade was for homecoming, so lots came my way. In the past I would not have picked it up because of my fear of people thinking I was too fat to be picking up the candy, but today, I felt pretty comfy in my size 14 jeans, walking into the street for it! (There weren't many kids there to take it, so mostly it was just laying there! Even the good stuff!

AND

Look at my food diary from today! I ate on,y three pieces!

Wow! You look great. How much have you lost?
  • I used to avoid mirrors, even reflective surfaces in public. I hated catching my reflection. Now, I still don't like it, but I don't avoid or shy away from it.

Very socially outgoing, like cameras, and people ask me to pick up the heavy crap.

Nothing different. Maybe I hold my head a bit higher, but that's it.
  • That I actually really like myself in this new body. I was always so hard on myself before because of all the weight issues. I feel free now from all that crap. My personaity shines through with self confidence.

I try harder at everything! I am so much more organized and motivated to do my homework, look for a job, clean the house...

I let guys pick me up now...I haven't lost all that much (so im sure they would have been able to before), but before I was so self-conscious that they'd find me ridiculously heavy, that i just wouldn't let them. Now my guy friends throw me around all over the place haha and I don't mind.

I keep my house cleaner, I don't hide when someone whips out a camera, I am not embarassed to buy food or eat in front of people, I am less clumsy, I wear more colorful and cute clothes, I smile more, since I eat less, I appreciate my little treats more, I am not embarassed around new people or in front of a new classroom full of new students.

Thank you for asking this. It's a great exercise in appreciating my new body.

More confident, talk to people alot more now. For example the cashier at the store, the bank teller, the waitress. Sometimes I think it makes thier day.

I tend to stand a little straighter, look people in the eye when passing, I talk more openly to others. I like to tell them about the journey when they ask what Ive done. I wasnt real shy before undertaking this but Im way less shy now.

Not so self conscious even after losing just 26.6#- Before I would avoid my reflection in windows- now I notice a difference- especially when prior to entering the door at Planet Fitness... Yee Ha!!
