Which Jillian Michaels DVD?

I keep reading/hearing how great she is so thought I would try one of her DVDs but no idea which will be best. I am not fit at all, so it would need to be one that is not mega difficult to start off with, and builds up to being difficult. I like aerobic stuff, not too keen on weights etc at this stage.

Anyone got any thoughts as to where I should start?

Thanks :)

I've done 30 Day Shred, Six week six pack and killer buns and thighs sparodically. I wasn't a big fan of 30DS *ducks and hides to avoid weights thrown at head* but really enjoy the other two! The reviews on amazon are pretty helpful, and you can test them online before buying them if you type the name into google and minimize the search to videos 20+mins.

banish fat boost metabolism is all cardio stuff like jumps, kickboxing etc but If your a beginner even though you dont like weights I'd always recommend the 30 day shred because you can take a before and after picture and within just 30 days you can see huge differences to maybe not your weight but definitely to your overall shape. It is also really good at building yourself up like you will struggle on days 1 and 2 but by day 6/7 you will see a big difference in your strength and endurance :) Good luck with what you decide.

Thank you :) I just dont want to get something that I just cannot do - I have alot of weight to lose and want to do this in a way that makes me motivated and encouraged, not distraught because I cant do a million sit ups!! :)

just wanna say - you can always modify the excersices to stuff you can do.

The point isnt that you "can't" do it (properly), the point is that you're trying to do it at all.

    Keep trying :)

30day shred is good because it is short and gets you in the habit of doing it regularly. Jillian usually gives easier versions of exercises too. Once you get fitter, try No More Trouble zones, I love that one, it really seems to work everything.

30 day shred is good to start with, but you do need dumbbells and its some strength and resistance training.
Banish fat boost metabolism is a 45 minute long cardio dvd, 8 circuits, each circuit is five moves repeated 2 times.
I like it and you can shorten it.

I'm currently on day three of Biggest Loser Cardio Max. It's a 6-week program with three different phases. Phase 1 is instructed by Bob Harper, Jillian does phase 2, and the other trainer does phase three. Obviously I'm still on phase one but lemme tell you I am sore! definitely reccomend it if you're trying to burn fat. if its too difficult, alternate moves are provided to keep you moving and burning cals :)

Thanks for this - it sounds good! I want to do some exercise but dont want to be disheartened by not being able to do it, so its good that it has alternatives until I AM fit enough to do it properly!!!

You're welcome, I am a fan of The Biggest Loser and was looking for a DVD program I could do at home so I thought I'd give it a try. I just finished day three, and it's getting a lot easier. Hopefully I won't always be this sore afterwards lol. But I like it so far! It does a lot of core strength/cardio workouts so maybe I'll get myself a nice 6-pack LOL yea right.

It's the bits that don't require you to get in the floor.

Start with 30DS. You can watch it for free on YouTube. If you like it, definitely get No More Trouble Zones and Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism. Those are my other favorite titles.

I need to keep switching it up, or I'll get bored and quit. In my regular rotation I have:

30 Day Shred (haven't done this one in quite a while, though)
    Kickbox Fast Fix
    Body Revolution
    Killer Buns and Thighs
    Extreme Shed and Shred
    Ripped in 30

I love all of these and would recommend any and all of them.

I also have 6 Week 6 Pack and Banish Fat Boost Metabolism, but I haven't tried those yet.

I'm on day 29 of 30ds today and I have really enjoyed it. It was hard going the first few days as I am incredibly unfit. I can really see that my fitness has improved and I'm looking forward to taking my measurements tomorrow and then starting it all over again on Monday:D

Regarding the dumbbells - I just used 0.5l bottles filled with water! :) Way cheeper! :)
