KNEE WRAPS

I've been gradually adding heavier weights to my squats, deadlifts, and leg press routines (love my leg days) my knees usually do not bother me until the next day. I am wondering if wrapping my knees would help aleviate the soreness on my knees, there seems to be many mixed reviews on wrapping your knees during workouts. Does anyone use wraps? is it a good or bad thing?? or does anyone have any tips (besides going to the doctor, already made an appointment ) oh how to aleviate the sorness?

I'm not sure about wrapping your knees but you could ice your knees after a workout. It would help with the soreness. I don't want to discourage you from lifting but if your knees are really sore, then it might be too much weight. Of course, this is coming from someone who has had 2 knee surgeries so I'm pretty cautious when it comes to knees!:laugh:0

There are a few things that I particularly never recommend using and very rarely ever have used. First, a weight belt- with the exception of a very limited few, dont use them cause ya dont need them. Using a wt lifting belt doesnt allow you to use your abs for stabilization , making your overall core just that much weaker- if you have done the core training you should be doing, your back muscles and your abs are more than enough to stablize you and protect you during a lift. Secondly, knee wraps...Ive never used them-I think I tried once a long time ago but it wasnt comfortable at all. They prolly wont hurt and if you do have bad knees may provide some additional support but in general, I say no to them.0

Well it depends on what exactly is sore. If it is joints then fish oil and other joint lubrication suppliments may help. If it is something else, then sports oriented medical professional first may be best bet.0

lol I just purchased a belt too... When I do my deadlifts my lower back is uncomfortable, it's not pain because I can work right through it I guess soreness. Thanks for the input, I will def follow up with the Ortho and see what he says.0
