I know I am not even halfway through the change of a life time but I had to post about this because I am just so excited! Lets face it, anyone who has gained weight and grown out of clothes has kept some of their favorites (pants, tops, dresses) with the hopes that they will pull that box back out one day and be able to fit into them again. For me today was the first time that I have dared to take down that box and go through some of my favorite pants from high school and just after high school.
I was prompted to try this feat when my mother made a comment after I showed her that my size 20 pants, that I bought barely a month ago, were already loose. She commented that I should be able to fit into size 18 soon. This got me thinking, what size did I wear in high school? I've been fighting this weight struggle since middle school really so I wasn't really sure how big I was in high school. I pulled down the box of pants that I have been holding onto and started looking through it. I was able to pull on, button, and zip not one but two pairs of these pants! It seems like for the next two sizes that I go down I won't have to buy new pants, I'll be wearing the pants that I haven't worn since high school. I am down right giddy about this! I am not ready to post before and progress pictures just yet but once I hit the mid point to my first loss goal I will proudly post them
.
I have hade so many victories lately, I completed my first 5k in 53 minutes, I have lost over 50lbs from my highest weight, and now I was able to wear some of the pants that have been gathering dust for a good 8 years. Now I am just thinking about how great it is going to be to shrink out of the pants I wore in high school. I am so glad that I made this choice, this life style change. People seem disapointed when they ask me what I am doing and I tell them that I am using MFP to track my calories and hitting the gym more often. It is like they wanted some easy answer and I let them down. I have learned that there is no easy way, no quick way, the only way is to want it so bad that you pass on eating junk, you drag yourself to the gym after work when all you want to do is go home, you have to fight for it. So I am going to keep fighting, and I am so glad to have friends on here that are in the same battle, just taking it day by day.
We've got this! ^_^

CONGRATULATIONS! I know the feeling as I am currently comfortably sitting on jeans I pulled out of the back of my closet yesterday that I have not worn in over 10 years! I am down 2 sizes and yes, as boring as counting calories and exercising sounds, it just works
Here's to your continued success!!

Thank you Ktsmom! It really is wonderful to see results. Hard to always see them in the mirror though so that is why pictures and visual aids like pant sizes are so much more helpful for seeing your successes than just looking at the number on the scale.0 -

I love love LOVE your username 1Cor1510! Congratulations on your success as well! The "boring" stuff always seems to be what works. Want better control of your money? Do and stick to a budget. Want better control over your weight? Watch what you put in your mouth and move more. Here is to your continued successes as well! :flowerforyou:0
