Joke - How Would You Think?

Ok folks....
I am currently having a joke played on me.... The Scenario is:-
I have the hots for someone who knows I have a soft spot for him. There's been a silent body language thing going on between us. I hardly know the guy and rarely speak with him. Given his body language before he "disappeared", I'm pretty sure he has a soft spot for me too, however, there has probably been a degree of just humouring me.
Customer Service told me three weeks ago that he left and that he had taken a transfer. I know for a fact this is a joke - I have my own undercover spies! lol. Everybody knows it's a joke and they've tried their best to convince me he's left. Whilst he has been away, customer service have been given the task of keeping my mind off him and have been denying and contradicting everything said to make me out to look like I've gone loopy. Let's just say that reverse psychology worked wonders as their supposed Sting Operation, turned round and bit them! LOL!
I've been one step ahead of these lot since day one when they gave me the shock news that this guy had left.
Now....he's due to return next week and they think that I've swallowed the whole story and that I've been pining after him.
So....long story short.....how would you view this whole thing? Is it a really mean joke or if indeed this guy does genuinely have a soft spot for me, would you consider it slightly endearing and sweet that he's gone to this much trouble to surprise me upon his return. Apparently he's supposed to be making it up to me... ;-)
I just have to get some other peoples perspective on this so I don't look an even bigger fool than I need to given the scenario.
Tell you what tho - either way, he's gonna get the s**t beaten out of him when he returns...apparently he'd prefer that according to a conversation I'd overheard. lol! I have a great welcome back present lined up for him. Can't wait. lol

Ehh, I don't know what to think about this, since I don't know specifics. I'm confused. His co-workers have been telling you that he has transferred as a "joke"? How do you know it is really a "joke"?
If it were ME, I would think that I read this guy's body language wrong and that he didn't like me. He got tired of having some girl drool over him, so he told everyone to tell me he moved, so I would leave him alone.
Then again, I don't know how close you are to this guy. Are you aquaintances, friends, dating, etc.?
If you aren't very close to him, tread lightly. No one wants to be THAT crazy, stalker chick...0 -
Ok...thanks for the reply.
Crazy stalker chick I am definately not.
Certainly treading lightly hence why I wanted other peoples opinion even if its embarrassing and looks crap on me.
My overall thoughts are it's one of two options. He's interested, had no choice in the transfer (from what I have been told) and genuinely wanted to surprise me. Or...he's not interested and as you say, wanted to make a point of it.
I dunno.0
