Afternoon all
Just thought I'd mention that as of the 1st October all protein powders and drinks will be subjected to 20% vat on top of the regular price. So if you can it might be worth getting an order in now. I'm sure some companies will try to minimise the increase - but they won't be able to swallow it completely.
And that's quite a hike in price. :grumble:

Sports Nutrition Drinks
The VAT treatment of sports nutrition drinks will become consistent and all such drinks will become standard rated. Currently, some sports drinks are treated as zero-rated because they have been successfully argued to be outside the definition of a “beverage”, on the grounds that their prime purpose is for nutrition, producing energy or for building bulk, rather than for rehydration, quenching thirst, etc.
Drinks which will be affected by the change to standard rating will be sports nutrition drinks such as carbohydrate drinks, work-out recovery drinks, creatine drinks and protein drinks, regardless of their form (e.g. powder, syrup, concentrates, essences, crystals, etc). Meal replacement drinks for slimmers and invalids will remain zero-rated.
