I had a baked potato and was checking the calories on what I ate without the skin. Then just out of curiosity I checked what a potato with skin would be and it was about 100 calories more. Why is the skin so high?

Wow! That really is quite a difference. I'm not quite sure why that is or if that is even completely accurate. I do know that most of the nutrients are actually found in the skin and not so much in the flesh of the potato.

Did you have the same serving size? I just checked and there was only about a 30 calorie difference for with skin and w/o skin - but the default for with skin was a large and the default for w/o skin was a medium.

The 30 calories sounds better:happy: I will recheck the serving sizes. Thanks

I think there is too many differences on the baked potato calories that are the same size that you are right I , I should check it out on another web site.

Because that is where the protien and other healthy stuff that are in a potato are.
the inside of the spud is all startch and carbs, the skin is the GOOD STUFF, but still I agree that 100 seems high.
