Is there anybody using Anytime Fitness?

Just curious, as one is opening up across the street from my job. I'd love to be able to work out during lunch when I miss my 5 a.m. work out or on days when I have things going on with the kids in the evenings. I don't require much - I use Planet Fitness now for $10 a month and basically do 45 minutes to an hour of cardio followed by a weight workout 3-4 times a week. I don't need specific classes or a trainer or anything.

If so, how much is the monthly fee? The website is kind of vague on that.

I'm a member of one near my home. I love that it's right by my house and that I can go in whenever I want. As for the rate you'll pay around $30 a month and that varies from gym to gym. Mine has really nice equipment. It's not nearly as big as 24 hour fitness or Planet Fitness type places but I actually like the smaller feeling. I generally do my workouts in the evening after 9 pm and there's hardly anyone in there. Works great for me.

Thanks! It does look small but all I need is free weights and a treadmill, and a place to stretch out. They aren't actually open yet so I am going to have to wait to check it out. My only fear is that it would be crowded at the time that I want to go (lunch). We'll see.

I think the busiest times at my gym is the 6-8 am range and then from 5pm - 8pm after people get off of work. The manager showed me a graph of how many people use it at what times. I suspect that it will be the same there unless there are a ton of people wanting to do the lunch time thing like you.

I stopped by during lunch and they are already open during staffed hours. 9-6. They will be open 24 hours starting October 1. Its very nice! I joined. I figure for a dollar a day I can't go wrong even if I only use it once a week when I miss my early morning workout at Planet Fitness. The owner has a Ph.D in Nutrition and Sports Medicine and was fantastic. I can't wait to try it.

I think they're vague on the monthly fee because it's so expensive! I called to ask about membership. The total cost of joining + a monthly fee was over $200. What a ripoff, especially when I'm paying $5 a month for the gym I'm with now!

We had 4 people on a plan, even with 4 people joining wasnt 200! That doesnt sound right.

With tanning, it is $37 a month here. Without tanning it is $20. I like it because it is one mile from my house. I run there, lift weights, run home. Perfect workout.

So they wanted $16 a month? That's not horribly expensive.

Stick with the gym that works for you. No need to switch if yours is cheaper and works just fine. I switched because this one is really really close and it's always open anytime I want to go in. Not that I'll go in at 2 am but I do the occasional 10 pm workouts and get in as early as 6 am some mornings for cardio.
