slight weight gain before loss?

why is it that if you weigh yourself every day that you go up a little (in my case .2 lbs) before loss the next day???

Water weight. If you're eating at a normal rate, you're putting 2-3lbs of food and water into your body over the course of 16 hours, and then nothing for (ideally) 8. During the night you end up breathing and sweating out a lot of water.
That's why you should only weigh yourself, at most, once a day, and at the same time every day. I find it's most motivating to only step on the scale in the morning after I use the bathroom and before I have anything to eat, so it's most consistent. A lot of people will even say that you shouldn't step on the scale every day, but that's really personal preference.0
