I remember reading an article once that claimed too much soy in the diet is bad for hormones. Wish I could remember who published that article.
I'd suggest sticking to whey protein as well... oh, and you know... eating healthy solid foods and stuff.0 -
I have family members who have had great results with it. But I'm not about spending that kinda cash on a supplement. I mean, can't you just use whey protein and get the same kinda results?0

I'll add in my 2 cents from personal experience on soy. I switched to soy 5 years ago because I'm lactose intollerant. I worked out, was careful about caloric intake & lost some weight. 6 months in I started noticing I was thickening up, my cycle got out of whack (try 2 weeks on 2 weeks off..!!!!) and then I really did gain about 30 pounds in less than a year - all this while working out for at least 1 hour a day & eating around 1500-1800 cals a day (and I had cut out chocolate & sweets). I researched soy & discovered that some women (some men, too) are predisposed to have an adverse reaction to soy - not an allergy or intollerance but where your body is forced to think feast or famine all the time & already thick fat cells grow thicker. I cut out soy & it took me 3 YEARS to loose the weight & regain "me" after less than 1 year of soy.
Not everyone is like this - my older sister is fine with soy. I, apparently, am not. If you do a soy-protein, monitor yourself on a weekly basis with measurements & any "odd" occurences. I hope what happened to me doesn't happen to you or anyone else, and the only way to know is to keep mindful of everything you do when you start something new.
Good Luck no matter what you choose.0 -
Ducking in and out quick.
I use BBV... I have for a year... *not selling, not promoting in any way*
Just a tid bit of information about the soy they use... it has been modified to take out any of the 'negative' properties, so even though the name "SOY" is used, it has been expellar pressed in a sense (not actual proper term) to clean it up and not have the issues that come with SOY.
I cannot have soy... I can drink this shake no problem. I like it because I have a lot of health issues, and this one jives with me- the closest other kind of protein powder I can have is EXTREMELY expensive and so I stick with this.. I enjoy it, will I take it forever? likely not.. but for this past year- it's a daily snack with my almond milk & flax
leaving now... don't throw anything at me :P0 -
I personally lost 23.5 pounds in my 90 day challenge. I have never felt better in my life....
hmm.. I lost 31lbs in 90 days eating real food!!
If you're going to use shakes, supplement, don't replace meals!!0 -

I can't say that I have.0

I lost a lot of weight in a very unhealthy way by using something very similar. I'm now a nutritionist, and most of the reason I got into the fitness industry and why I post on these boards is to protect people from making the same mistakes I did.0

In my opinion...keep your money

A buddy of mine sells them and he himself won't even drink them. He'd rather drink another brand, more bang for the $.0
