How much calories am I burning?

Options
So, i go on the treadmill and I do 30 minutes of 2 mins fast run, 1 min fast walk. How much calories am I burning and does this give me an afterburn because I'm working my heart harder?

This will vary slightly depending on age and how fast your "fast run" is but I would estimate about 10 calories a minute. That would mean 300 calories. This isn't totally accurate but the best I can do with the information given.

My age is 22 and because I'm considered "petite" 5'2 I run at 6 which is already fast enough for me.

That's probably still pretty close. Go to the exercise search page and search for "jogging" and use 6 mph or maybe 5 mph since you slow down for a bit. See what it gives you.

Total accuracy requires a heart rate monitor. This should be somewhat okay on a calorie guess.

    Ha. I get it..

Consider investing in a Polar FT4 or other HRM's, it would be way more accurate.

Edit: Oops just saw you didn't have the money. Nevermind. XD
