Hi there. I'm new to the boards and have only just posted my introduction thread a few moments ago, but I wondered ...
Are there any other current/former nursing moms out there? If so, how many calories do you add each day for nursing? I have read everything from 300-500 calories, so I'm adding 300 to be on the safe side. Your thoughts?
TIA!

I am a past nursing mom. If you are nursing full time to a young baby then 500 calories is appropriate. If they are on some solid food then 300 is more realistic.

Sweet. Thanks! Sounds like I am on the right track. My baby is on solid foods and I'm actually starting to decrease my number of pumpings during the workday. We still have about 6-7 nursing sessions per 24 hour period, but perhaps I should think about reducing it below 300 before long.
Thanks again!0
