For interval training- do you log the rest periods also, or subtract out the rest periods? I did a search but didn't find anything. Also, do you log it under circuit training?

Great question, I'm curious as well. My watch just gives me an average and that is what I log.

if you eat back your exercise calories the only important thing about logging the exercise is the calorie estimate. it doesn't matter what you call it or how long you actually spent doing it. The number of calories is the only thing that is added to your food log.

So for interval training, like any activity, log it under any category and for whatever time you spent or think you spent, but make sure the calorie estimate has some relationship to reality.

Dont bother using the MFP estimates for calories burned. They are almost always absurdly higher than the actual number.

Wow! U just spoke my mind. My iPad pedometer tell me 456 for an hrs walk and MFP will say 800 don't even know which to stick to.

I log as an average. The treadmill shows my average speed at the end so I use that. It is probably a little under but that's ok.

good for the treadmill, what about calisthenics or kettlebell intervals? I don't have an HRM.
