Workouts based on body types

Yesterday, I stumbled upon a website (superskinnyme.com) that discusses different body types (endomorphs, ectopmorphs, and mesomorph), their characteristics and the ideal type of workouts/diet you could follow for continuous success. Does anyone believe in this? I'm seeing this for the first time, and judging by the characteristics, I am an endomorph. I tend to plateau every 10-15lbs which can get irritating, seeing results is a very slow process and it made me wonder if I am doing this wrong. I know that not any one thing will work the same for everyone, but even starting to lose weight was difficult for me. I resorted to the use of Alli because I just could not lose any weight. All of my weight loss happened within the year (I kind of forgot that I had this account) and majority of that is due to Alli. I have been off the pill since June and in that time I have only lost another 9lbs.
I just want to know what your thoughts are on this and if you do follow workouts/diets based on your body type.

I, too, plateau often now. At the start I didn't, but since I have taken off the first 40, seems I plateau (LONG plateaus) after every 10lbs. However I do not do anything based on a body type. What I do is simply up the Intensity and try to swap around what I eat a bit. The first plateau was 6 months, this one has been almost 5... but here's the trick that keeps me going: I am NOT gaining. Had this been the old days, I would have been gradually gaining this whole time, not anymore! Also, I have noticed during the plateaus that my body recompositions itself. Things shift, tighten, and drop making it all worth it too. I am careful not to drop calories too low, as that is my instinct, but also the problem that got me to where I am now. I just push and stay on track knowing that science, determination, and drive are all on my side
You can do this, you just have to learn patience. You have taken off 9lbs since June...that's 9lbs lighter than you were just 31/2 short months ago!!! I would totally take 3lbs a month. Then on some months you will notice more, on some, less... it's ok because it is still progress!0 -

Patience is key. I don't know if there is any definitive science behind exercising/dieting for a specific body type (not saying there isn't....I just haven't heard of it). You need to chance your expectations for weight loss in order to be long term successful. You've lost 57lbs in a year - that's awesome! And 3lbs/month since June? Really great! I've lost a total of 3lbs since June, with the last two pounds coming off within the last 12 days. But I'm not complaining. Other things are improving - my fitness, my body composition, I'm losing clothing sizes. The scale doesn't always show what we want it to and we need to learn that instead of trying to do this quickly, we need to do it slowly and finally. Meaning - do it right so you never have to do it again.0 -
I actually just spent the last two months exercising and dieting with a trainer who worked with me using this system. I was at 285 and now am down to 228. Its worth looking into. But, I do stress that its hard and takes time. Patience is important. I do feel better than I have in a long time and am more careful about what I chose to do since learning this.0

Somatotype crap has been debunked. Mostly the same thing works for everyone. The biggest difference is that some people respond better to lower carb due to poor insulin sensitivity and\or secretion.0

Thanks for your comments. I had never heard of that before so I thought to ask what everyone else thought of it.0
