The frozen Boneless/Skinless Chicken Breast is VERY versatile and rather cheap (I get the Pilgram's Pride at Wally World).. can go in most anything or be cooked and eaten by itself. One breast can be cut in half, pounded flat in a ziplock and have seasoning added to marinade overnight then cooked and served over rice or pasta.

I like to cook my rice with chicken or vegetable stock, seasonings like crushed red pepper or oregano, and vegetables in the pot with it.... easy to save and tastes great reheated.

Put a bed of Instant rice in a baking dish, add adequate chicken broth, place a chicken breast on top, then top the chicken with cheese and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Season then bake. Makes a lower cal / cheaper version of the Stove Top Oven Bakes chicken and Rice.

Anything you can make with hamburger meat can be made with ground turkey INSTANT reduction in fat & calories... ESPICALLY if you use the lower fat meat (lower fat may need some cooking spray so it won't stick to the pan or grill).
  • cheapest buys EVER right here... bulk bags of beans and lentils, brown rice, eggs, different kinds of potatoes, onions, bananas, cucumbers, popcorn kernels, carrots. to save more money, go to farmers markets to get your produce! it's much more nutritious than that genetically modified crap from kroger, anyway. :)
  • beware of anything frozen, as freezing takes nutrition out of food!!! also beware of canned food, because it has lots of sodium and preservatives.
