Literally! You won't believe what a well fitted bra will do for your morale, confidence, and shape. You really do look a lot slimmer.
Over 80% of women wear the wrong size bra. A lot of women believe that because they were a 36B most of their life they are a 36B now. Some women don't want to hear that they are not actually a 36B but a 34D. The number does not mean your are bigger, it is just a better fit. You are not just a pair of breasts, so why let the number define you? Get measured and fitted by a professional, it really is worth it.
Signs your bra does not fit properly:
1.You have big red lines on your shoulders. This is due to lack of support. Your bra gives support from around the ribs, the straps
are merely to stop the top of the bra from falling off. If your your bra is supporting from the straps, it is not a good fit.
2. You are bulging out of it somewhere.. the "chicken cutlet" near the armpit... or out of the top.
3. You can lean forward, and put your fingers between your bra and your sternum (breast bone).
4. You can fit more than two fingers between your bra strap around your ribs and your chest wall when standing.
5. If the cups wrinkle in any way.
6. You find you are falling out of the bottom, this usually means the cup size is not big enough, and the strap is too big.
A good quality, well fitted everyday bra only has a shelf life of around 6 to 12 months. If the thought of spending money on something that no one else sees makes you cringe, then consider the fact that a perfectly fitted bra can instantly make you look 10lb slimmer.
Your bra should be fastened on the tail end of the clips when first purchased, to allow for moving to tighters clip as it wears. Get measured and fitted. Nordstrom does a fantastic job.
This is NOT me, but it illustrates the difference. Notice her waist. Her shoulders appear higher, because her posture has changed. She no longer has this weight dragging on the front of her.

Go somewhere like Nordstroms, Macy's or another department store where the women working in the department know what they are doing, and not just some kid who works weekends in VS.

I've had so much trouble with this since losing weight! Maybe a trip to Nordstrom's is in order...

I had been to other department stores, and they weren't as knowledgeable as Nordstrom. They were fantastic, they really were. They knew how to measure properly, and the lady I dealt with, knew exactly what I was talking about when I told her my problem areas. She went, picked up a bra, I tried it on, and it fit like it was made for me. I said "that is it, I am keeping it on". I put my t shirt on, and when I walked out of the fitting room, my other half said "you are wearing your new bra, aren't you? You can really tell the difference, it makes your waist look smaller". I have since been back to buy 2 more regular ones, and a sports bra.0 -
