I am a relatively shy person, so approaching people at the gym I go to is near impossible :embarassed: . I ususally go to the gym in Ashdown, Ar. but I can go to any Anytime Fitness in Texarkana and the one New Boston, Tx. also. I really need someone to go with me at least 3 days a week. PLEASE!!!! I AM BEGGING HERE!!!!!!!!

I'm not in your area so I can't help :( But can I ask why you are so scared to go? You don't HAVE to approach people at the gym. You can just go in there, do your work and get on out and go home. Most people at the gym are content to mind their own business.

I do but I actually exercise better when someone is with. I seem to push myself harder. I has nothing to do with being afraid.

Everyone is there for the same reason...when im alone at the gym I just look at other people for motivation. If I see someone heavier than me running on the treadmill, it motivates me to try harder...and vice versa, if I see someone with my dream body, I look at them like "this is what i could look like if I give it all I have." It will help you take your mind off of the workout and before you know it you will be done and have given all of your effort.

I hope you find someone, but if you don't - have you considered joining a class at the gym?

That would allow you to meet a bunch of people in a group environment without the stress of approaching someone, get the incentive of a group setting to up your exercise intensity, and maybe get to know one or two of them during water breaks and see how it goes from there in terms of forming some gym-buddy friendships.

I would think about a gym class, but my work hours make my gym hours odd.

Thats another good idea - I looked at your profile and it says your a CO, im sure some of your co-workers go to the gym, have you tried asking them?

lol no my coworkers go to Ihop after work, and I am ALWAYS invited to that. You would think that in my profession the gym would be a commo place for us
