I'll just be happy...

When I reach 250 lbs. That's what I used to say not too long ago. I was never really serious about losing weight until about mid July of this year. I've pretty much hovered between 270 lbs and 280 lbs for a good part of my adult life. I'm sure there was a time or two where I hit the 300+ mark, but I've always been good about sub-consciously hovering back around 270-something without much effort for the most part.

I used to say to myself, "yeah I probably need to lose a couple of pounds...if I was just around 250 I'd be happy with that"

I hit 250 this morning...and I'm not happy with it. My current goal is around 200 lbs to start with and we'll see what happens from there. I'm liking this whole weight loss/exercise/lifting thing a whole lot more than I thought I would. I love the little advances in endurance and strength.

Anybody else say to themselves...I'll just be happy when....???

Absolutely! I started out in February at 262 lbs and I said to myself, I'll just be happy if I can fit back into all of the size 18 jeans I have in the basement collecting dust...

Well I got there in June/July of this year and then hit a plateau and I realize now that I'm not happy at 203 lbs. I'd be happier at 175 and happiest at 135. So I'm making my way down little by little until I get there.

You're doing a great job so far and I wish you luck on your next 50. We can do it!

Thanks!! I'm sure that MFP has quite a lot to do with this being fun, but its also made it much easier since I can now plan and track my food. I also think the support is great! I have great support at home with my wife and my son so even without MFP I have a great support system, with MFP it just add that's much more.

    You're doing great as well!

Mine has always been " I'll be happy when I don't jiggle anymore!"

I haven't gotten there yet. I have lost weight, I have toned up a bit, but I still jiggle WAY too much. I have started adding little weights while I watch TV so that I can get more muscle, hoping that will help with the jiggle. Lol
Even though I haven't gotten to my goal yet, I am much happier now than I was 20+ pounds ago.
