TAKING A WEEK OFF BEFORE DOING THE INSANITY RECOVERY WEEK

I pulled/strained a muscle in my mid back, most likely from all those push ups! I was able to finish month 1 of Insanity (through some tears of pain). I started into the first day of my recovery week. It's pretty impossible to do a push up at this point. My Chiroprator thinks I need to take a week off from any strenous activity, and let my muscles heal a little.

If I take a week off then start my recovery week, am I going to be totally out of shape/behind when I start month 2? I haven't missed a single workout in month 1, and am very commited to this Insanity craziness I started. I know I should do what the professional says, but it's really hard for me not to workout. I still go on about a 4 mile walk with my puppy every evening, so I'm getting some movement.
