Tell me

What workouts do you like doing as far as dvd workouts. I have done the 30DS and I am working on BFBM (I hate it).

Also if any of you run everyday what are some good running shoes for women?

If you're looking for something crazy, intense and amazing, I'd say Insanity. It's hard but if you like a challenging workout, this might be the one for you. I suppose it really depends on what you're looking for. I just finished my first round of Insanity. Now I'm working on 30Day Shred and Brazil Butt Lift Hybrid. I've also done Hip Hop Abs in the past. I was also doing Zumba a while ago but at the time, I just really wasn't into working out so I didn't do it faithfully. Hip Hop Abs worked for me in the past and it was fun. Zumba was fun also. My nephew is now using my Insanity program but I'll be doing another round once he's done with it. I've actually found myself missing the intensity of Insanity. Hope this helps you in some way.

I would love to do Insanity or P90X. I love something that kicks my butt. I may get one of those workout out dvd's for Xmas this year. Yay!

You should try No Trouble Zones by Jillian Michaels. It's similar to 30 Day Shred with circuits with weights, but twice as long.

I have heard about that one and I am going to give it a try after I complete BFBM.

As far as running shoes go, definitely go to a running store (not a generic sporting goods store) and get fitted. Running shoes are incredibly specific to each person, and yes, they will be more expensive, but the right shoe is worth every penny. A running store will analyze your gait and get you in the right shoe (which you should not need to 'break in'). If you are planning to run a half or full marathon, make sure to go up a half or full size in your shoe.

I've done 30DS and BFBM, as well as No More Trouble Zones. I like them all for different reasons, and will probably move on to Ripped In 30 when my current round of training is up.

I currently don't have enough money to invest in some good running shoes. I will be saving up though. For the time being can I just use my Skechers? Lol

Ha, yeah, I have to do a lot of creative budgeting to get my shoes. The sucky part is, running in any old shoe is a path to injury, even if you're only running a few miles. Knee pain, IT Band issues, the dreaded plantar fasciitis...a lot of it can be avoided with the right shoes. You can always go get fitted and then look online to see the best deal. I run in Brooks Adrenaline, which hasn't had huge modifications for a number years, so I can often get last year's model at a reduced price. I've also seen Groupons for my local running store, and they have sales every holiday, so I tend to stock up then.

I wish there was a better or cheaper answer for you. Unfortunately you definitely get what you pay for with running shoes.

I will definitely be asking my SO for some nice pair of running shoes this Xmas. Thanks for all your input.

I haven't been doing workout videos..

But let me tell you, Sauconys are the most comfortable things I've ever strapped to my feet. I spent an entire day (literally) trying on basically every pair of shoes in the county.

I was thinking that Nikes are expensive, they must be good. Reebok, of course.

Nope. Try Sauconys. They're less than half the price of the "popular" brands and they are amazing.

I really like JIllian Michaels Kickbox Fast fix. its actually a lot of fun lol. and as far as running shoes go I have a pair of Nike Dart 9 shoes which I really like and a pair of Nike Flex TR2s. pretty much any Nike shoes are good. They're a little spendy but they're good quality. If you're looking for Nikes I would check places like Shopko (not sure if you have one where you're at) because Nikes website tends to be way more expensive than other stores.

Just an FYI, if you do get Insanity or P90X, pop over to the Beachbody site and look for CoachGregA's Team Engage Insanity thread.
I'll be doing another round of Insanity around the holidays. I was on Coach Gregs' team for my first round of Insanity. There's a great group on the team and we were all there to support and motivate each other. Most of us just finished our first round. Some are starting round 2 right about now. Some are doing P90X also. It doesn't even really matter what program you are doing, you are welcome to join for support and motivation. I'm glad I joined the group and I plan to continue with them for a long time. I use the same screen name on Beachbody. Good Luck. Kathy
  • I love my aisics and I need to get a new pair soon...I too will be cutting back somewhere else to get them but it's better than being out for injuries.

Yeah, we have a Shopko near. I'll go check the shoes out, thanks.
