Taking a day off

Yesterday I took the day off. I ate what I wanted, I didn't exercise, and I didn't feel bad about it (though surprisingly I stayed with in my calorie goal so that probably helped curve the potential shame)....but guess what, the world didn't end, the sun still rose, and today I went back to caring. THE REASON I'M BOTHERING TO TYPE THIS IS: It had great results for me. I hadn't been this energized for a workout in months! And my muscles were doing things I didn't know they could do. There's one move in particular that every day I struggle and swear my way through - all to the endless avail of still not being able to do it - BUT TODAY as if superman somehow crawled into my skin to pump iron for me, I was lifting like a beast! Your body needs time to heal when you're building it . Your body is a machine - it needs maintenance to keep running smoothly. Give it a break from time to time - you'll thank yourself.
