Exercise Balls - Everyone Should Have One

I have an exercise ball at home and I use one at the gym. You should too. They are extremely useful and effective.

Using an exercise ball helps you to focus on your body’s core strength by increasing stability and strengthening your abs. Regardless of what fitness level you are at, you benefit from using an exercise ball!

I very often use the exercise ball instead of a weight bench. I will also use the ball when doing stomach exercises. When sitting or lying on the ball, legs, buttocks, and abdominal muscles will work harder in order to stabilize your body, making even small movements important.

Stomach crunches, free-weight lifting, and other exercises performed while lying on the ball will increase the intensity of any workout by adding more muscle groups to each move.

For people just beginning to start an exercise program, even sitting on the ball while watching TV or working on the computer will work the abs, legs, and buttocks as well as improve posture and prevent back pain.

Exercise balls can be used to add incline to lifts and extensions. A common exercise for isolating buttocks muscles is to lie on the floor with heels on the ball and simply lift the pelvis toward the ceiling. You will often see the ladies doing this exercise.

The arms and abs can be given specific attention by kneeling, propping arms on the ball, and slowly rolling back and forth while keeping abs tucked in toward the spine. This is not a terribly difficult exercise but is very effective.

Regardless of what kind of shape you are in, the exercise ball can and should be an integral part of your exercise routine. They are inexpensive to purchase and you will see results.

Omg! I love them! I have a regular one and a longer looking one - shaped like a pill. They are the best to work out with for my abs and back! I love the Gunner Peterson work out dvd that uses them too!
