My Name is Karen and I will be 51 in December. I need to loose about 40 to 50 pounds. Last year in March I had surgery on my knee and gained weight, very frustrating. I have tried everything short of lapband or gatric bypass to loose the weight that I gained. I believe it has to do with my going through menopause and my idiot doctor told me that I just need to exercise more, even though I had just had knee surgery. I have recently joined Zumba which I absolutely love, I have monitored what I eat and the weight does not want to come off. I am very frustrated and discouraged.

My advice would be to get away from the things that the food companies are pushing at you that are preprocessed and sodium dense. Try to eat lots of fresh vegetables, fruits, and whole grains... Keep the calorie count down and move more... I understand the pain and frustration of injury and glad that I'm never going to go thru menopause... Eliminate white flour, refined sugar, sodas, and anything that appears on a food label that you can't pronounce... A friend of mine has eliminated gluten as she went thru the "change" and it has helped her incredibly...0
