Exercise Calorie Question

Okay, so I know we're supposed to eat back exercise calories. But, I have a question/problem.

Yesterday, I didn't really get much of a lunch, so I didn't have many calories to start with. Then I had practice with my 8th grade team (I coach), and then went straight to a game with the adult team I play with. All in all, I ended up with like 2500+ calories burned. Came home and ate a biggish dinner, but still only barely made my GOAL calories, forget about even coming close to any of my exercise calories. But at like 10:30 at night, there's not much time to eat them back.

So, here's my question: Should I eat some extra calories today to make up for the huge deficit yesterday?? Or just forget it and try not to let it happen too much more?

Thanks!!

  • That 2500 calories burnt sounds like an awful lot for one day.

Anyways, I would just count it as a win for the day and go about today as I normally would. Do what works for you. If you are extra hungry today, then eat more.

One day of under eating/not eating back exercise calories won't hurt you. If it becomes a pattern then it might be something you need to look at, but for now I wouldn't worry about it.
