Grams and Cups

Does anyone have a good rule of thumb on how to convert cups into grams? Is something like that even possible? It's kind of hard to know what to put down. For example, I ate some chicken and pasta this afternoon and it filled my 2 cup bowl. When I went to add it, the closest thing that I could find was measured in grams. I already ate it, so weighing it on my food scale is kind of a non option. Someone help! This happens to me all the time!

Unfortunately there isn't really a way to convert between the two because different foods have different densities, so 2 cups of pasta will weigh less than 2 cups of chicken. The densities of different foods may be listed somewhere, but unless you have a food scale, I would stick to quantities that can be measured with cups and measuring spoons :)
  • I was afraid of that. Thanks!
