YUM! I always put whole chickens in the crock pot experimenting with different seasonings every time....

So funny! This is the ONLY way I'll make a whole chicken, and I bought one this week for that purpose.

The last one I made cooked a little too long and it was so "falling off the bone" tender I had to use forks and take it out of the crock pot in pieces! Absolutely delicious!

Do you put any liquid in the bottom of the slow cooker?

No need to - the crockpot seals all the juices in from the veggies and chicken (tip - -don't peek at it 20 times! Just put the lid on and let it cook). You end up with quite a bit of broth, actually. And it's super-juicy!

I make this all the time! It really is the best too. The last hour I add a bag of frozen broccoli. Yummy. Its the only way my kids will eat broccoli.

Reminds me of the chicken my parents used to make in their Romertopf.

    Totally trying this.
Although I'm cooking for one...I guess it will just be a week's worth of meals for me.
  • I have one in the Crock Pot right now for dinner tonight. This time, I just added a jar of hot wing sauce to the mix.

    Enjoy your dinner!

I do this all the time. After we're done eating the chicken, I take all the bones and leftover veggies, toss them back in the crockpot, cover with water, let cook another 8 hours on low, and strain for awesome homemade stock. Yum!
