Hi..I have decided to invest in a monitor to count calories burned, heart-rate, distance, for an affordable price..Does anyone have any suggestions for the best affordable type? thanks :)

  • I have a Polar FT4, just got it about a week or so ago..... LOVE IT~! Not quite as fancy as some of the others, but good for what it does..... heart rate, calories burned, stopwatch. I got mine on Amazon for less than $75 shipped. If you do a search on monitors on here, you'll see this topic has been covered pretty extensively, and Polar brand is extremely popular.

I don't have it yet, but I won a Fibit on eBay. I should have it the first of the week.

I have a Polar FT4. I love it...it doesn't do distance but that isn't really an issue for me. My bike has an odometer on it and my ipod has a pedometer if I really want to use either of those. My treadmill has distance and I know 4 laps around the track is a mile so really, distance wasn't something I wanted included.

If you want distance on yours, it'll cost a bit more. But, if you can take or leave the distance, i recommend a polar

I ordered the Polar FT7, I haven't received it yet so I can't tell you how I like it but that is one of the most popular brands and I ordered it from http://www.heartratemonitorsusa.com/ and it was only a little over $75 dollars which in my eyes was a steal!
  • My wife loves her Fitbit. And it automatically links to MFP and downloads data.
