Almonds. I like fiber one bars also but they are basically candy bars

Yeah, I second that- you could have a banana? Or even tubs of cherry tomatoes? I find that they're a great snack and travel well, because they're in their little cartons! Or little packs of unsalted nuts. Most pre-packaged snacks are really high in sugar/sodium/fat, so I'd avoid things like energy bars, fruit rolls etc.

If you like to cook your own stuff these are DELICIOUS, I am overdue for replenishing my stockpiles.

Else, prepare your own "trail mix"
  • fruit or celery with peanut butter ! i loveee peanut butter, so good. just put the peanut butter in a second small container.
or rice crackers/ celery and carrot with dip
    or crackers and cheese
    or trail mix

there's no need to buy muesli bars, which usually aren't that great for you, just buy tons of containers you can keep reusing :)
  • Find a healthy cereal you like dry and make your own small packs. I do the same with raw almonds. Light cheese sticks should be fine for a day without a coldpack too.
  • If you want completely prepackaged, Quakers rice snack single serve bags and Jiffy to Go Natural. That's 350 calories and 10 grams of protien. I wouldn't eat it everyday but I keep at at my desk for an emergency snack.
  • I LOVE the Kind Bars...they are delicious and not high in sugar and all. They are great.

Fruit, nuts, homemade muffins (not prepackaged but I make a batch, wrap them individually, store them in the freezer and just grab one and go), boiled eggs (5 minutes to cook and they come prepacked in a handy carrying shell!), cheese and crackers (you can buy ready to eat packs but it's much cheaper to buy them separately and put them in a small lunchbox or ziplock).

The only "ready to eat" processed snack that I eat regularly is Be Natural muesli bars - they are pretty tasty and not TOO full of added extras.
