over 1100 calories left today. Quick help

So its almost 9 at night and I have over 1100 calories left to eat today......and I have not worked out yet. What should I do?

EDIT: I really appreciate everyone looking at my diary, before you do, a side note - my kitchen is under a full remodel, no appliances, or even a counter top to prepare food on. I hate all the eating out and stuff I've been doing - I just kinda stuck on a lack of other options

Looking at your last few days logging....either enter all the food or get help. You have a serious under eating issue

Um, eat? Why have you only eaten 400 calories today?

I do log everything. I usually don't eat back all my workout calories but I don't feel like I under eat. From a third person view could you tell me what looks so bad about it? Honestly, any feedback is much appreciated.

Just busy I guess. I actually don't feel hungry either. But I feel like I should eat something. There's also no real food in the house so I don't really know what to eat.

You only ate 1 sandwich today? Don't take this wrong - are you taking any diet pills like phentramine? They can curve your appetite so much that you don't realize you're body is really in need of food. You should really eat every 4 to 6 hours.

Don't try to consume those 1100 calories all at once. You'll be miserable. Drink a Boost protein shake or something to get some nutrients into your body.

Very true, when your body slows the metabolism down and hormones are messed up from undereating, you will indeed not feel hungry.
And your stomach shrinks, so you can even feel "stuffed" while eating hardly anything.

Gotta plan better, go get something. Pediasure for baby's, the higher calorie one. Tastes great.

You feeling full has little bearing on your body being fully fed.

If you aren't hungry, I'd agree with the PP that said to have a protein shake or maybe a smoothie with fruit and yogurt. Something to get some calories and some nutrients.

Looking over your diary for the last few days, I see a lot of processed foods, or takeout. I think you need to go grocery shopping and plan ahead a bit. Veggies, fruits, lean meats, nuts are all good ideas. I like Skinnytaste.com for recipes if you have time to cook.

Set an eating schedule wherein you eat every three to four hours, even pre-plan your meals if you have to. I understand being busy, but setting a few minutes aside every few hours isn't too difficult a task.

Your body needs a certain number of calories to function - regardless of whether you work out or not; your body will consume a base number of calories every day simply existing. If you continually ride beneath this baseline, you will see weight loss - but you will also ruin your metabolism, deprive your body of necessary nutrients, and set yourself up for quickly gaining back the weight and then some once you resume eating normally.

My suggestion: Plan ahead, including making time for meals, determining in advance what foods will compose those meals, and carrying healthy snacks. If nothing else, opt for fresh whole fruits (they travel well) and meal replacement bars.

To the critical people... If you look back past today, she's eating. And obviously she wants to eat her calories today, too. Also, some people don't get hungry that much during the day. Personally, I eat the bulk of my calories in the evening.

I'd recommend a couple of PBJs and some nuts or something. Mmm.

ignore savage... why people think they need to eat back what the gain while working out makes no specially when trying to lose weight..however i do realize that some times u need to eat a tad more when working out.. any who..ur food intake is fine... like i said fix some salad have a sandwhich and some soup..make a waffle..have a doughnut.. the day is already over so if ur not hungry..dont gord yourself trying to eat enough cals to zero out..
  • I looked at her last week and she is eating food, the calories are there. If you have 1100 calories left and it is late for you I would do a smoothie loaded with protein and then start over tomorrow!

I scrolled through some of your days and the only one I could find where you hit your calories was movie theater popcorn, a sugary Starbucks drink, and Red Robin.

Try planning a full day out ahead of time. You can skip to tomorrow's date in your diary and just start plugging things in. Try healthy things, even if you don't have them in your kitchen. Fruits, veggies, whole grain breads, maybe some eggs and lean meat like ground turkey, greek yogurt, a cereal made from grains.

See what a day looks like around 1600 calories or so. Print it out and carry it around with you, maybe cross things off with a pen as you eat them. Start early so this doesn't happen all the time.

This is assuming you are being honest and not just looking for attention. You really have to put in effort if you want to get healthy.

    Good luck to you.

I have days I'm way under. Normally I male up for that by going over on other days. If I'm really not hungry I don't force myself to eat but I also don't starve myself when I do feel hungry. Try a couple tablespoons of peanut butter

Eat a banana and whole wheat toast with 2tbsp of natural peanut butter if you have it.

So here's the deal with take out and processed foods - TYPICALLY thats not how I eat and I've felt like crap doing it. My kitchen is currently under a full remodel - no real way to cook at home.

Good ideas there! I recently upped my cals and had no idea what to do, after a few days playing around with my cals/macros I know exactly what to eat everyday to get to where I want to be.

Get 3 big macs but take of the top bun
  • I'd recommend a peanut butter and banana sandwich and a glass of milk or something.

I see. It would be difficult to cook without a functioning kitchen. Maybe you can find some good crockpot meals (if you have a crockpot) to get you by until you can cook again, though I'm not sure what you will do with leftovers. :/ I'd try to keep some fresh fruit on hand (doesn't need to be refrigerated) some peanut butter and bread would be good too. Anyway, regarding today, I'd just try to eat a little something but wouldn't stuff myself to make up the 1100 calories.

Pizza is fine. But coffee, pizza and a high sugar dessert do not supply your nutritional needs for the day. And you while you have some healthy-eating days, at a quick glance it looks like many of your days are nutritionally deficient.

For today, just eat something. You've been under too many days recently, and that's not good for you or your metabolism.

Try keeping some healthy food in your home. I suggest keeping a few of the following as a start...
    * eggs
    * peanut butter (or almond butter)
    * bread - preferably whole grain and/or high fiber
    * some fruit and vegetables (I prefer fresh, but frozen is fine.)
    * some energy or protein bars (check the nutrition labels, they vary widely in calorie and nutrition counts, so get ones that match what you miss most often)
    * if you like them, protein shakes or nutrition drinks (Personally, I'd rather eat healthy, but if you regularly get to the end of the day without eating nutritional foods, this may keep you from causing serious danger to your health.)
    * yogurt, cottage cheese and/or milk
There are many other things you could keep around instead. I'm just suggesting these based on some relatively easy, nutritious and quick things you can do with these ingredients.

Posted this and then saw your edit about the remodel. Some of the things above will still work, but would it be possible to get one of those mini-college refrigerators (buy, borrow or rent) while the kitchen is being remodeled? That way you could keep a small amount of healthy stuff in the house -- milk, butter, etc. And perhaps use a microwave or hot plate?

I would add to Robin's list deli-sliced turkey (e.g., Oscar Mayer brand), a quick lean protein fix - most varieties are around 45 cal./6 slices.

I suggest that you eat something easy - peanut butter sandwich for example. Don't stress about eating every last calorie - while I think you do need to eat to stay healthy, if this is an one off it won't hurt you.
Don't work out today, if you've eaten so little, chances are you'll pass out and that won't be good thing!

Instead, take the time to plan what you are going to eat tomorrow - then you won't find yourself with over 1000 cals left at the end of the day. It doesn't matter if you don't stick to the plan 100% but it lets you see how the day might unfold and makes it clear if you are under- or over-eating.

i havent looked at your diary but what type of workouts are you doing?i've noticed that when i do a more than 2 tabata/HIIT style workouts a week my appetite severely decreases.

just because you're not hungry doesnt mean you dont need the food. if you're forgetting to eat then set some reminders throughout the day to eat.
