Sorry, it's completely unscientific silliness (not surprising considering that it was designed by a naturopath....)

Never ignore the placebo effect.
The net of the blood type diet is that it's almost certainly balderdash. On the other hand, following it makes people aware of their food intake and they tend to eat more mindfully. In addition, it's not associated with expensive magic potions - the people on it are eating from a varied selection of real food.
So, yes, probably silliness, but it does work for some people. Just not exactly in the way that they've probably convinced themselves that it works.0 -
I looked this up ages and ages ago because I am O. If I recall O is high in grains, low in protein. Totally the opposite of what works for me, which is higher in protein and balanced grains.0

Actually, O is the carnivore, so can eat a much higher variety of meat. Grains are very restricted, and dairy is reduced, but most other foods are good. I don't follow it exclusively, but I tried adding more protein, eliminated a lot of gluten from my diet and reduced my dairy and coffee, and I saw a big improvement in energy levels, a reduction in gas/digestive issues and I just felt better overall. I was skeptical trying it, but it did work for me.0 -

I believe a number of naturopaths, chiropractors, and other quacktors have come up with many a "blood type" diet, some charging not-insignificant sums to come up with "individualized" plans that appear to involve little more than reaching in to a drawer and pulling out one of 3-4 preprinted sheets at random.
But if you're referring to D'Adamo's diet specifically, type O appears to need more saltwater fish for the fucose. A sugar found mostly on mammals, so I'm not sure why you'd eat fish to get it, but I'm sure there's a homeopathic dose because the good doctor dipped a mammal in the ocean once and threw a few magnets in the water.0 -
This is stupid. End.0
