I started the couch to 5k a few weeks ago and I'm on week 2 now. The past two times I've ran, my abs hurt. A good hurt like they are getting a good work out....so does running effect your abs as well??

    Yes. :-)
  • Yeahh you're abs will be worked when running, differently to doing an ab workout but they are postural muscles so will constantly be engaged

I would recommend that if you are feeling this already in your abs that you make sure to add or continue a core strengthening program. A weak core can lead to a lot of running related injuries.

Thanks everyone!!! I'm excited it also works my abs...woot woot!!
I love doing the couch to 5k, Week 2 is running for 90 seconds and I was thinking there is no way I can do this...but I did it. I actually enjoyed it more than doing Week 1 where you run for 60 seconds 9 times. I am going to be gone this next week on vacation I may not get to do the running but I at least want to keep doing some type of exercise. Do you think when I get back I should re-do week 2??
