60th wedding anniversary?

My parents -- I'm adopted by my great grandparents-- are celebrating their 60, yes 60th wedding anniversary and I have NO IDEA what to get them. Websites for like thingsremembered.com have great ideas for 50th, but I haven't found one thing for 60th. I plan on getting them a custom made cake, but like....what the hell do you get people who have pretty much everything?!

A memory book of EVERYTHING YOU CAN POSSIBLY GET YOUR HANDS ON.
They forget things at their age.
FYI - Just wait until 70. It gets even harder to come up with stuff.0 -
My aunt is doing a memory book. =/
I doubt that they'll make it to 70, my gramma can't hardly remember stuff now, she has dementia or Alzheimers one or the other and refuses to go to a doctor so we can't help her much. She's slippin' pretty fast.0 -
Spend time with her and compile a cook book on all her favorite dishes. People at this age don't want things, they want time.
Having someone come by and do stuff they no longer can would also be appreciated.
Find out when she's best with thinking (usually lunch time) and spend time with her then. It really will mean the world to her.0 -

I live with them and spend all the time with them I can (between school and work, cleaning the house and cooking) and she can't remember how to make most of her favorites, like she can physically make them, but to tell me what's in them or how much lol nope, she has no idea.
I try to spend more time with her on the weekends but even though she's losing her memory, my grandpa(dad) isn't, and they're always on the go so when I have time to be around they dont lol. And he's not convinced he can't do stuff anymore, he still restores old cars, weed whacks in the morning and whatnot.
I was trying to find a wedding picture(because it'd be black and white) and turn it into a 8x10 color picture but they apparently didn't get one, nobody knows of one so that's out. My aunt is doing like a timeline book with family pictures, baby pictures, wedding announcements and such. I can't take them back into yesteryears by getting an antique car, because we own and drive and rebuild 5 model T's now. Ugh.0 -
Quite the pickle!
My gramma was also hard to shop for. She was always thrifty with money so we got her a REALLY nice robe one year,
maybe some nice sheets? monogramed towel set? Have a photographer come in and do a family portrait with everyone? a local ameteur wouldn't be horribly expensive and most just like having experience in their portfolio.0 -
I was seriously thinking about the photographer. It's getting my grandpa(dad) to dress up! He'd much rather walk around (in public) with workout mesh pants on and a plaid shirt, lol. I guess when you get to that age, you really DONT care how you look. He used to tell me "I'm old I'll say whatever the eff is on my mind" LOL.
The only problem I have with a photographer is that my family doesn't all get along especially my grandpa and his son, my uncle, who nobody likes, so if he's in it, there's a problem because his adopted girls will be in it and although they're kinda family, they don't act like family and if he's not in it he'll be pisssssssssed.
Plus how do I go about getting a candid family portrait? I'd rather it be candid instead of posed. I like candid pics. (=0
