I have been reading the community alot lately, what does it mean when someone says stay with in there macros? is that the daily alotment of calories, carbs, fat ect?
Also I am wondering about liquid calories? I usually have about 200 calories a day from starbucks - ice cool lime refresher and an ice cofee with non fat milk, should i be counting these in my 1200 calories per day? i have been which really only means i am getting 1000 calories a day for food. i know i should cut the liquid calories out. I dont usually track my vegetables on MFP so with my veggies i am probably at 1400 calories a day, including my liquid calories. does it sound like i am starving my body? currently i am not working out. i do drink lots of water.

I'm no expert, but macros are things like protein/carbs/fat. IE: staying with in your macros meas eating a balanced diet geared towards your goals.
Yes, count your starbucks! It is calories, so count it!
Personally, if it is a drink with less than 20 cal I don't count it right now... because I'm not eating my exercise calories, so I have play room. But, really you should be counting everything you eat.
I am doing something called carb cycling. I always shoot for at least 100 grams of protein per day. On M, W, F I eat low carb, no sugar and 1200 calories. I can have fat (cheese, salad dressing etc) on those days. The rest of the week is a high carb day (as low fat as possible, and I shoot for 150+ grams of carbs, low sugar, whole grain). I eat 1500 cal on those days. Sunday is my fun day, and I allow myself up to 2400 cal and can eat foods in what ever combination I want. It seams like that would be a lot, but if you average out the week it is only 1500 cal per day. I've found that by cutting out the sugar during the week I don't crave it anymore. I'll allow myself a coffee and sweeten it with sugar free syrup or flavored stevia drops... and that works for me now.
I lost my first 10% with almost no exercise, and by changing my eating habits. You can too! Feel free to look at my food logs if you want, or send me a message/friend me.0 -
Are you working out on the days that are higher calories?0
