Hi, just need to have a moan, why do people add you as a friend and then never leave comments/support. I don't collect friends for the sake of it and always do my best to offer support. Rant over:((((

I hear ya....I literally have three people that comment...you can add me, I try to as supportive as I can0

Gentle pruning never goes amiss - also works with 'friends' who hardly log in as well. Part of the magic of MFP is knowing there are others like you around the world all battling the same problems as you and getting new ideas/support from them.
There .. nuf said Jul my MFP friend for over a year :0)0 -
Add me I comment all the time, but then my wife says I talk or is it type too much!
:drinker:0 -
I don't know how. I've got some friends added and I see posts from them but it only shows on my profile and I'm confused. I think I'm missing something.0

Who cares? If they're not living up to your expectations, delete them.0

Some people have 100-300 friends. There is no way they could be too supportive. Try to add friends with small FL. :flowerforyou:0

This.
Plus not everyone is on here all the time. I can't always comment since I work so much and am a full tine student. My friendsdon't mind0 -
Different timezones make it difficult for me but hey at least I try to keep everyone motivated0

I have a pretty good number of members in my MFP Army, I try to offer support, commentary, and a little laughter to all of them. If they are not actively participating/posting, they are gently processed out. FR me... I am always open to folks that need encouragement, and I will do my best to cheer them on!0

It could be different schedules as well. I try to comment when I can on FL workouts but I also know that some of my friends are on the other side of the world and are in bed or close to it when I am available.0

See I was gonna FR you...I can't now. I am definitely NOT supportive.
(well unless you count a daily laugh that keeps you going a little longer)
(or when you're down I tell you you have meaning)
Other than that no I don't hold your hand and cheer over your exercise and diet.
But you will check back on MFP, so to me that is motivation.
Arrogance no just a fact.0 -

That upsets me as well! For awhile, it felt like I got very little support, but now I have some friends that are good about supporting and motivating me. I just deleted a few that only lurk. I'm always looking for friends that support and motivate so, anyone, please feel free to add me! I log on every day and I will leave supportive comments/messages for you!0 -
I totally understand your frustration. I have recently returned to MFP after being absent for several months. Unfortunately, most of my supporters are no longer on MFP. I have had several people send me "friend invites" and then totally ignore my progress even though I make supportive comments. I've actually had a couple of these "new friends" make really critical comments about my diary. Constructive critisism is welcome, but put downs. . .seriously????
I do not "collect friends" for status. I can certainly lose weight on my own, but I know from previous experience that three or four good supportive friends helps.0 -
easy. Delete em'0

I'm newish, and I friended a few people. The posts that come across are things like, "so and so has logged in for x days in a row", or "so and so was under their calorie goal". When I posted that I was excited to be under 300 for the first time in years, no one responded. I felt gypped, and wondered why I had signed up to be friends with them. The logs are so cluttered with the nonsense, I can't see when someone actually writes a post.0
-
I completely agree!! Feel free to add me!0

I'm a bad friend in that I don't often comment, but then, that's why I don't send requests out.0

I'm kinda confused. Was that directed to me? I personally don't care how many friends MY friends have on their list. I was just giving OP a suggestion for HER situation. :flowerforyou:0
