Hi, I am discovering that , contary to what I used to think, I was an emotional eater ! As I cant eat for emotions at the moment, I am discovering that I am having to 'stay with' all sorts of uncomfortable feelings : boredom, frustration, sadness, anoyance, 'empty nest' to name a few ...
Any one else on the same journey?
New non-food coping so far has been :
stop and identify the feeling 'why am I craving a cheeseburger (Ive never liked them before !), hmm, in fact I'm feeling frustrated...
chat with my supportive friend on y fitness pal (thank you )
DO SOMETHING : clear out some clutter, go out for a walk, see a friend
reduce stress : give myself time out in between periods of stress caring for my husband (who is blind,) teenagers( who have Aspergers syndrome, and are , obviously, teenagers), and my mum (who has dementia
a bit of TLC over 'empty nest' (oldest son now at university)
being aware of positives 'an attitude of gratitude'
the occasional weep !
Just some thoughts....

I, too, am an emotional eater. You have a lot on your plate. It sounds to me like you are doing an amazing job identifying your feelings and dealing with them. Hang in there.
