A bromantic night on the town (question)

Ok, so you're a guy going out on the town with a guy friend, or basically any platonic friend of a gender that you're not romantically interested in, which, in my case would be a dude. Say you go to a bar and grill or a pub, something like that for dinner and maybe a couple of beers. Maybe it's a friend you haven't seen in a while or just you and your pal planning on engaging in hypermasculine behavior that may or may not skirt the fine line between hetero and homosexuality, whatever it is when you get together with your pal(s). Now the server takes you to your table and it's one of those square tables that seats four uncomfortably. Here lies the dilemma. Do you sit to the side of or across from your platonic friend? Which is more appropriate?
Also, would it be inappropriate to eat off one another's plate?

As far apart as possible, that way you're not distracted hoping your dongs don't touch. THAT could be distracting!

But on a serious not, it depends on the position of the table, where the ladies are and how loud the bar is. If you need to sit next to each other to see more chicks, by all means. sit next to each other!

You should across from each other... and then he can feed you over the table.

I think it's funny guys have to take this into so much consideration. My husband and his two friends once went to the movies and had a sh*tfit because there weren't enough seats to sit in every other (leaving one empty between each of them). Apparently, that's something you HAVE to do if you're a hetero guy going to a movie? Weird... girls just sit right next to each other.

Ah yes. The buffer zone. Man law fundamentals.
