Back injury setback

So I finally got motivated again, made some great goals for myself. I have been taking a hip hop dance class that I LOVE, and I bought some tap shoes to begin a tap dancing class next week. I was in Week 2, Day 1 of the Couch to 5k plan, and planning to run a 5k St patty's day. Feeling awesome...and then wham. I strain my back to the point where I can barely hobble to work.

I am so disheartened. My chiropractor told me to stop running "for a little while" and I didn't even ask about the dancing--if I can't walk, I certainly shouldn't try to dance. I just want to pig out and have a big pity party. How do you stay healthy and encouraged through a serious injury?

I had a hip injury a in Sept that made it so I had to cancel doing a 1/2 marathon I was planning. It is disheartening. But you work on cross training/strength training. My injury was due to my back not being strong enough for the trail run I had done. So you work gradually without pushing to hard and focus on staying within your calorie limit.

Hope you feel better soon. I hate being injured too.
