I started this new lifestyle on Monday. I dropped 5.5 pounds the first two days. Woohoo! Then, on Thursday, I had surgery (got my tubes tied). I still haven't cheated on my food, but have gained 5 of what I lost back. I'm still in quite a bit of pain, so I'll just have to stick to the diet and hope for the best. Argh!! I'm going to be the matron of honor in my sisters wedding in February, so I feel like I'm on a deadline!

The first 5.5 pounds you lost was most likely water weight. And it's probably just the water weight that you put back on. No big deal
You can get right back at it when your feeling better.0 -
Yes, that initial big loss was likely mostly water weight, which is normal when you start dieting. There's not a lot you can do really when you have something like surgery to deal with. Your weight will go up and down anyway due to water fluctuations, and the surgery has probably just exacerbated that effect. You know you haven't cheated, so it's extremely unlikely that you've gained 5 lbs in fat. Don't panic, just keep at it, let your body recover and you'll see results. You'll be able to lose a good chunk of that weight by February.0
