you can always lower your sodium...it will never hurt you to have less. I try to use other seasonings since I really dislike the taste of salt. I'll add extra italian seasoning, pepper, chili powder and garlic. Good luck0

sodium shouldnt be a problem health wise unless you have high blood pressure. you might bloat for a bit though0

I'm not a doctor, but I have problems with swollen ankles, feet, hands, and everything else when I go over 1500-2000 mg of sodium. That is what is recommended for my husband by his heart doctor. It's difficult if you eat anything out at a restaurant or packaged from the grocery store. To keep it lower, try to fix as much of your own food as possible. Season with salt-free seasoning mixes or get creative with herbs for seasoning. I'm not saying I can stick to this all the time, but I feel better when I do! Good luck!0

I gravitate towards food with high amounts of sodium without meaning to. I'm trying really hard to fix that. I have low blood pressure as opposed to high, though.0

I second this, salt tastes disgusting to me as well, so I season my food with other things, mainly pepper
In my opinion I think there is enough salt naturally in foods (bread etc) to meet daily targets. I have never added any extra salt on anything, and my mum never cooked with salt when I was a child. Only intake of sodium I have is the ones already in the foods, and I have never had a problem

You are actually only supposed to take in about 1 mg per calorie, so depends on your intake. Very few on this site need 2500, but that's the number that the experts recommend that Americans not go above. If you go over, just be sure to make sure you are also getting plenty of potassium in your diet and drinking plenty of water. My ankles swell, too, always have, so did my grandmother's, but if I eat clean and drink plenty of water, it's much reduced.0
