Diet Food

Just a rant. Remember that the diet industry actually has a special interest here, which is to KEEP YOU BUYING THEIR PRODUCTS! I've said it for years and they said it on "The Weight of the Nation". A product like Slim Fast, with artificial flavoring and 36 GRAMS OF SUGAR IN ONE SCOOP of the chocolate?? Partially hydrogenated oil in GNC's Total Lean shake??? READ YOUR LABELS PEEPS AND THINK! You really DO get what you pay for!!

I agree totally. READ THOSE LABELS. I used to have trouble sleeping, so NyQuil came out with their new product for sleep (I think it's Zquil or something) and I ran right to the store to buy it. One night it was sitting on the bathroom counter as I brushed my teeth. My husband picked it up and read the label and said, "I can't believe you would take this stuff!" and left the room. I was shocked. I picked up the bottle, read the label (I had used it several times), and threw it in the trash.

    Thanks for the reminder!

Incredible what the food and diet industry, and pharmaceutical industry for that matter, get away with in this country. They're as bad as politiicans! lol

I always tell people, why drink a slim fast that has 200 calories when you can eat a chicken breast, green vegetables and a small salad for the same amount of calories. To each their own, I guess.

You're right! I do drink a lunch shake for lunch b/c I'm on a school bus so it's easier when operating heavy machinery but there's no slop in my shake! Just whole food goodness that has solved a whole slew of health problems for me lol. Not just shakes, either. Ever read the ingredients on the Special K and Atkins Diet bars? Or even Ensure and Carnation Instant Breakfast. And doctors recommend Ensure while they're writing out a whole bunch of prescriptions for drugs they get kickbacks on. I really don't trust the entire industry anymore...
