In the sales I bought my first liquidizer (only £15 at ASDA). So tonight I made my first smoothie. Here is what I made it from.

225g of raw freshly chopped Egyptian strawberries (Morrisons)
125g Sliced bananas (2 bananas - fairtrade from ALDI)
125g Blueberries (packet from Morrisons)
14g Linwoods organic milled flaxseed
500ml of Pure Orange Juice from concentrate (Morrisons)

When liquidized this makes 1 litre of smoothie. So One portion is half-litre which is only 284 calories, 61g carbs, 4g fat and 6g protein

It tasted fantastic, was filling and is probably the most healthy drink I have ever had.

Can wait until I drink the other half litre for breakfast tomorrow

sounds awesome! My attempts at homemade smoothies usually don't turn out that amazing. :grumble:
  • thats kind of how i make mine. instead of the orange juice i add yogurt to mine. smoothies are great and healthy, but the stuff to make em can get costly!:drinker:
  • That does sound good, I am going to have to try that. Thanks
  • I have used yogurt, Dannons Light & Fit Vanilla that I add berries and fresh ground cinnamon to, as a replacement for ice cream. I will have to try putting them in a blender and making a smoothie. Do you add any other liquid?
  • i do, i add a little bit of milk just so it doesnt come out too thick. sometimes i add a tiny bit of protein powder.
