So one of my good friends is challenging all her friends & family members to change something regarding their health/nutrition for October. She is challenging herself to lose 10 pounds, her Mom to stop chewing her nails til they bleed etc. I chose to challenge myself to drink the right amount of water. Now it's not like drink junk over water. I'm just never thirsty & I don't drink anything at all. I'm one of those people who can eat a huge meal & never ask for a drink or even look for one to wash it all down after. I guess I'm strange, I dunno. I have researched online the right amount to drink & have gotten several different answers. So I wanted to ask for your opinions, what has worked for you etc. Thanks!

I never liked drinking water unless I was really thirsty too. I started walking around with a gallon jug everywhere I went, now I drink more than a gallon per day.

I was the same exact way as you too, I'd go two days without having barely a cup of water. What helps is to carry it EVERYWHERE with you! If you're on the computer, watching tv, or just running somewhere, it's good to have (: You may not always feel thirsty but taking sips and having it right in front of you is very convenient and helps to get your water intake up.

I feel like I'm gonna pass out if I don't have my water. I drink anywhere from 12 to 16 cups a day. Other people only drink like 8 cups, other people drink like 20. It really depends on how you feel, but the recommended amount is 8 cups, so you should start with that.

Thanks everyone for the input. I think I can handle 8 cups a day. Maybe even if I make a drinking schedule like 1 cup per hour that will help me to keep track.

When I am thirsty, I drink. When I am not thirsty, I don't drink. My body knows how to regulate itself. I cant do this so called drinking gallons of water per day just because. Apart from anything else, my job wont allow it.
