Desserts - good grief!

I'm really lucky, in that I don't have much of a sweet tooth (prefer my fat with salt rather than with sugar - cheese is my downfall) so avoiding deserts, cookies, muffins, etc isn't too hard for me. But every now and then I think oh what the heck - have a couple little pieces of pie . . . and oh my goodness is there a lot of calories in that stuff. Went to log it after what was otherwise a perfectly good day, and it threw me way over. Just sayin'. Those of you who really love sweet stuff, my heart goes out to you.

Yep. I'd be teeeeny tiny if I didn't have a sweet tooth. I can eat 3 days worth of calories in desserts in an hour if I let myself.
  • Smart ones! Only have 140 calories for dessert!

I'm crazy about sugar! The good news is if I stay away from refined sugar, I don't crave it.

I eliminated sugar substitues from my diet and started using agave nectar (in moderation).

When I want something super-sweet, I toss 1/2 cup of milk and 1 ciup of frozen mixed berries in the blender. Healthy smoothie!

No, honestly, I struggle with this several times a week still and for most of my adult life I was losing. I'd eat an entire box of cookies after a day of healthy meals, feel sick physically and mad at myself, and then do it again the next day. No one believes me who knows me in person because I never gained too much weight since I'd run most of it off. I found I did better when logging my food because I had to face it, but then I'd start going "Oh well, this was a bad day, I'll just skip logging" and then two months would go by. I'm so happy to have found this site b/c the public(ish) accountability keeps me motivated and helps me feel supported.

Same for me. Avoiding entirely works better than moderation for me -- oddly I feel less "deprived" having no cookies than having only one or two cookies, confirming that they taste exactly as good as I'd imagined, and knowing that the rest of the box is sitting there in the pantry, calling to me.

I've been able to substitute desserts for Archer Farms yogurt in the strawberry cheesecake flavor. Sooooooooo friggin' delicious.

This is the LAMEST thing I have ever admitted to, but I didn't fall victim to the scheme...but stupid lame body by vi smoothie. They really are yummy. I think I'm in love with them. No I freaking won't buy them, nor will I sell them, even though TONS of people want me to, I have a stash that I got from someone who didn't like em, and the crazies said they taste like cake...so they taste like cake. And I'm in love.
