Sixteen pounds down in the first four weeks

Hi everyone,
A friend turned me on to MFP over Labor Day weekend, and I decided I'd get serious again about losing weight. I haven't been "thin" since I was probably in kindergarten, but I've gone back and forth a number of times.
At times I have weighed as much as 275 pounds. Just a few years ago (during my sophomore year of college), I was down to about 203...which, while not slim, doesn't look too bad on a 6'2" frame.
However, I fell of the fitness wagon again after that, and the partying and stress of my senior year of college and student teaching bloated me right back up again. My first teaching position was a nightmare, paying me 80% of a salary to do a K-12 job in an unfriendly town with a poor administration, so all the extra stress and lack of motivation to take care of myself ballooned me back up to around 260.
I tried to get things together a bit over the summer, and did drop a little weight. But the real progress has happened since I started using the site. In the past four weeks (since Labor Day), I have lost 16 pounds. I know better than to think that rate of progress is sustainable over the next several months until I reach my goal, but I am certainly encouraged by the results I've started to notice...and those results are making me want to work out harder and be even more conscious of my food choices.
I still have about 60 pounds to go, but I had to share the success of my first month or so of efforts!
